The charms of Annapolis are many: the City Dock, historic buildings, seafood restaurants, shops and music venues. Now the Annapolis area can also boast a new-home community designed just for households with members age 55 and older, known as Four Seasons at St. Margarets.

K. Hovnanian Homes is building the midrise, low-maintenance buildings at St. Margarets, a gated community just off College Parkway. The development includes a two-story clubhouse with a fitness room, ballroom and activity room, along with a swimming pool. Residents will also appreciate the location near the Chesapeake Bay and the delights of downtown Annapolis.

Buyers can choose between two- and three-bedroom floor plans, each with two baths. Each floor plan is also available with a loft. Some of the homes include a one-car garage.

The homes range from 1,129 to 1,847 finished square feet, with base prices from $298,115 to $422,490. Monthly condominium fees are $230 for the nongarage homes and $235 for those with a garage.

The buildings include a stone watertable and a security system and are surrounded by professional landscaping. Each home has a six-panel entry door, two-panel interior doors, miniblinds and a balcony. The homes have hardwood flooring in the foyer, 9-foot ceilings, crown and chair-rail moldings and high-tech wiring.

The lofts are reached by metal spiral stairs or carpeted stairs with oak railings. The kitchens have hardwood flooring, a cast-iron sink, 42-inch raised-panel oak cabinets, Corian counters, a dishwasher, a self-cleaning electric range, a refrigerator with an ice maker and a built-in microwave.

The baths have ceramic tile flooring, and the master bath includes a tub and separate shower. The homes also have gas heat and gas hot water.

The St. Claire model, with 1,129 finished square feet, is base-priced at $298,115. This home has two bedrooms and two baths on one level. The St. Claire has a foyer entrance leading into the open, yet defined living and dining rooms.

The living room faces the balcony and is open to the kitchen, which has a breakfast bar. The dining area sits inside a bay window alcove. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and private bath. The second bedroom has a double-door closet and an adjacent full bath.

The St. Margaret loft model, with 1,587 finished square feet, is base-priced at $394,990.

This home has two bedrooms, two baths and a one-car garage. The St. Margaret has an open floor plan, with the kitchen open to the combined living and dining area, which has a door to the balcony.

The master bedroom has windows on two sides, a walk-in closet and a private full bath. The second bedroom is located on the opposite side of the living area and has an adjacent full bath. Stairs lead to the loft overlooking the living area below.

The largest home, the St. Michael loft model, has 1,847 finished square feet, three bedrooms, two baths and a one-car garage. This home is base priced at $422,490. This model has a living room that opens onto the balcony. The kitchen has an adjacent dining area with a bay window.

The master bedroom has a bath and a walk-in closet. Two additional bedrooms and a second full bath are on the opposite side of the living room. Stairs lead from the living room to the loft overlooking the main level.
