Last week, The Washington Times’ features writer Ann Geracimos touted the healing powers of drums in her article “Nothing beats drumming.” Those interested in putting this hypothesis to the test may want to head to DC9 (1940 Ninth St. NW), where tonight at 7, the Brooklyn-based group Raquy and the Cavemen will offer a bring-your-own-drum workshop. Afterward, the musicians will serve up their own Middle Eastern-spiced percussion in a 9 p.m. show, and belly dancers from DC Tribal will accompany the performance. Tickets are $20 for both the lesson and show, $10 for the show only. Call 202/483-5000 or visit www.dcnine.com.
