How did you get started in real estate? My family has always been involved in real estate, so from a young age I was surrounded by it and I guess I caught the bug, as my entire career has been real estate-related. After graduating from Virginia Tech I began with Charles E. Smith Cos., now part of Archstone-Smith, in the Van Ness area of Washington as a leasing manager for a 625-unit rental building. I was then promoted to another Smith building to increase occupancy. I was successful and learned a lot about sales in those positions, and it was the perfect entry for me into the D.C. real estate market.

How long with the current company? Three months

Licenses: Real estate sales in the District and Delaware

Greatest accomplishment in last 12 months: Surviving the recent and, thankfully, past readjustment in the market and persevering and staying positive when things were looking grim.

What is your area of specialty? Georgetown, Dupont Circle and Logan Circle

Highest-priced home sold: $2,000,000

Most memorable houses: I have had two $1,000,000-plus clients who bought on the first day I spent with them. In both instances, prior to “hitting the pavement,” I had in-depth discussions with my clients about what they wanted in their new home. After spending a day or two previewing everything on the market within their parameters, I weeded out what I thought was not a fit for them and selected the homes I wanted them to see. By the end of the day both my clients made their decision, much to my amazement and excitement. It would be foolish not to attribute some of this success to sheer luck and being in the right place at the right time, however I have found that hard work and preparation are key to making sales happen.

Age: 29

Family: Single

Pets: Two Egyptian Mau cats

Education: Bachelor of science in management, Virginia Tech, 2000

Last book read: “The Sky’s the Limit: Passion and Property in Manhattan” by Steven Gaines.

What kind of car do you drive? BMW 3 series convertible

What is your dream house? I have always had this picture in my head of an old brick manor home on a 100-acre piece of land with a long tree-lined drive. If it were on or near the water, that would be even better.
