It’s not quite The Emperor’s New Clothes, but utility man Robert Fick received a new suit before yesterday’s game.

The details of how Fick ended up with the gray pinstriped with a peach-colored tie and handkerchief are sketchy. Fick received the suit as a gift from outfielder Austin Kearns.

“I saw a suit and thought Fick might want it,” Kearns said.

Fick immediately tried the suit on as teammates served as his personal haberdashers — straightening Fick’s tie, checking out the length of the suit’s sleeves, and other general maintenance technicalities.

When asked what the occasion was for the suit, Fick said, “It’s a photo shoot for Playboy magazine. Me, [Hugh Hefner] and three playmates.”
