The Washington Times on March 29 incorrectly defined “uncredited earnings” in the Social Security system. “Uncredited contributions” is the correct term to describe tax payments that cannot be matched to valid Social Security numbers and accounted for 1 percent of the Social Security trust fund’s income in 2004.
