An article in Monday’s editions incorrectly identified a strain of drug-resistant tuberculosis appearing in the United States. There have been 47 cases of extensive drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) diagnosed in the United States since 1992, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
