Today’s game

No. 14 GEORGETOWN (19-5, 9-2 Big East) AT VILLANOVA (18-7, 6-5)

When: Noon

Where: Wachovia Center, Philadelphia

TV/radio: ESPN, AM-980

Outlook: Georgetown authored its only conference stinker of the season when the Wildcats visited Verizon Center on Jan. 8 and upset the Hoyas 56-52. Though Villanova deserves considerable credit for forcing a season-high 22 Georgetown turnovers and holding the Hoyas’ frontline combo of Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green to just nine points on five shots, that performance looks like a Georgetown anomaly in hindsight. The Hoyas were nipped at Pittsburgh later that week and have won eight straight since, handling the press with ease and routing opponents by an average of 15.9 points behind the much more assertive Hibbert/Green duo. The Wildcats need this game more than the Hoyas, who now are seemingly playing for a top-four seed in the NCAA tournament.
