Bald Brit reconsiders

The evolving weirdness of Britney Spears keeps getting stranger.

Just days after shaving off all her hair, the hard-partying pop star donned a bizarre blond wig — a la Marilyn Monroe — and large black sunglasses to visit yet another club, reports www.thisislondon.co.uk.

Showing no sign of craving privacy, the singer, 25, arrived at the Roxy nightclub on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip for a karaoke-themed birthday party. But, in keeping with her increasingly erratic behavior, Miss Spears stormed out after 45 minutes — apparently peeved when the DJ played her debut hit, “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” in her honor — and headed for the Polo Lounge.

Meanwhile, some published reports have suggested that Miss Spears’ shocking decision to shave her locks (up for grabs on EBay, where bids have already topped $1 million) may have been an act of rebellion against her mother, Lynne Spears. The two had been feuding over Mrs. Spears’ demand that her daughter end her wild behavior, an unnamed source told the New York Post.

Detained Down Under

Australian customs officials searched Sylvester Stallone’s hotel room and private jet yesterday, three days after seizing banned substances from the muscle-bound actor’s entourage as he arrived for a promotional tour, Associated Press reports.

The actor was not stopped from leaving Australia, where he spent the weekend promoting his latest movie, “Rocky Balboa,” after officials searched his plane on the tarmac at Sydney airport yesterday, Sydney’s Daily Telegraphreported, without citing sources. Officials are still examining substances collected from Mr. Stallone’s entourage to determine whether further action would be taken, the newspaper reported.

Mr. Stallone and several people travelling with him were detained for several hours at Sydney airport on Friday as they arrived. Australian Customs Service national investigations manager Richard Janeczko said some contraband items were confiscated but he didn’t identify them. Mr. Stallone initially said the detention on Friday was the result of a misunderstanding on his part, then later refused to answer questions about the incident.

Jock’s ex expecting

Actress Bridget Moynahan, former girlfriend of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, is three months pregnant, and Mr. Brady is the father, Miss Moynahan’s publicist said yesterday.

According to AP, the glamorous pair split up late last year after a three-year relationship. Mr. Brady, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, has since been seen with lingerie model Gisele Bundchen, the longtime former girlfriend of Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio.

Liotta charged

Actor Ray Liotta was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his car into two parked vehicles in Pacific Palisades, Calif., AP reports. No one was injured in the collision.

Mr. Liotta, 52, was taken into custody Saturday night and booked on a misdemeanor DUI charge, Los Angeles Police spokesman Mike Lopez said. He was released after posting $15,000 bail and ordered to appear in court next month, Officer Lopez said.

Mr. Liotta next stars with Tim Allen and John Travolta in the buddy comedy “Wild Hogs,” set for release March 2.
