Last night at Verizon Center:

There’s now even more evidence Gilbert Arenas officially has arrived. The NBA reports his jersey is the eighth-most popular in the league, based on sales at the NBA Store and NBAstore.com. His emergence in the top 10 places him between the New Jersey Nets’ Vince Carter and the Miami Heat’s Shaquille O’Neal.

Kobe Bryant topped the list, regaining the No. 1 position from Miami’s Dwyane Wade, who fell to No. 2. LeBron James jerseys ranked third in sales.

Sales of Arenas jerseys this season helped boost sales at the NBA Store overall in the last three months of the year. The league said November and December were its biggest sales months ever, and the last quarter of 2006 was the biggest on record.

1,000Coats collected before the game for Caron Butler’s coat drive. The coats will be distributed to the less fortunate in the metropolitan area.

14-3 Record at home for the Wizards after their win over the Bulls, the franchise’s best since the 1984-85 Bullets began the season with an identical mark.
