Several local arts organizations are making it easy to pay tribute to the “man with the dream” today — even if you didn’t get the holiday off from work. From 4 to 6 p.m., Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane, Bethesda) will host “A Musical Tribute To Martin Luther King Jr.,” featuring guest speakers, live music and an awards ceremony. The free event is currently booked, although unclaimed seats will be released 15 minutes before the show. For more details, visit www.strathmore.org or call 301/581-5100. Then, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Kennedy Center will host “Let Freedom Ring,” a musical celebration of King’s legacy featuring Brian McKnight. Tickets for the free show (in the Concert Hall) will be distributed at the box office starting at noon today. They’ll also have a live simulcast. Log on to www.kennedy-center.org or call 202/467-4600 for more information.
