The rolling meadows of a former orchard, owned by a single family over many generations, is being transformed into Maymont, a community of 58 luxurious homes being built by Basheer & Edgemoore Homes LLC.

Maymont, off Route 7 and Beulah Road in Vienna just west of Tysons Corner, is surrounded by a conservation area of woodlands and stream valleys. Trails link the valleys with adjacent parkland.

A stone gatehouse will mark the entrance to Maymont and lead to the tree-lined entry boulevard. Terrace Park, near the entrance to the community, includes a fountain and will be the setting for community gatherings.

Deeper into the development will be Promenade Park, a horseshoe-shaped park with orchard-style planting patterns. Maymont also includes Summerhouse Pond Park, which has a walking trail looping around the pond and connecting to the extensive trail system in the community. Picnic and seating areas are part of this park, which is adjacent to open fields and wildflower meadows.

Homes in the community will be clustered around what the builder calls “petite greens” — small lawns with ornamental plantings.

Maymont’s location provides easy access to Wolf Trap, Tysons Corner, Reston, the town of Vienna and Great Falls village.

The homes at Maymont are part of Basheer & Edgemoore’s new Embassy Collection, meant to evoke the architecture of European estate homes.

Each will have 4,000 to 6,000 square feet and will be built on a site of a half-acre or more. Prices are anticipated to begin at $1,500,000 and higher.

While buyers can add custom touches to these homes, standard features include brick and stone exteriors, 10-foot ceilings on the main level, hardwood flooring, oak stairs, a fireplace in the family room and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters.

Each home comes with a three-car garage, and buyers may alter the homes to include a four-car garage with a guest suite. Other options include conservatories, rear sunrooms, screened porches, elevators and an outdoor kitchen and entertaining area.

The Innsworth model features a two-story foyer leading into a central two-story hall with staircases leading to the upper and lower levels. This home has a formal dining room with a triple window facing the front lawn.

On the opposite side of the foyer is the living room, which can be accessorized with a fireplace and/or a bay window.

At the back of the home are a corner library with an adjacent powder room and closet. A bay window and built-in shelving can be added to the library.

The family room includes a wall of windows and a two-sided fireplace shared with the adjacent keeping room. The keeping room is part of the generously proportioned kitchen, which also includes a breakfast room with two walls of windows and a center island.

A counter extends beyond the kitchen into a hall that can be converted to a catering kitchen. Nearby are a walk-in pantry, a broom closet and an entrance to the garage.

Upstairs, the master suite includes a bedroom with a tray ceiling and a wall of windows; a sitting room with a triple window; two walk-in closets; and a bath with a corner tub, a separate shower and two vanities.

Buyers can add a fireplace to the bedroom and a morning bar and television cabinet to the sitting room.

Buyers who opt for a sunroom addition on the main level can add an extended sitting room with three walls of windows or a veranda to the master suite.

The second level has three more bedrooms, each with a private full bath. A laundry room and walk-in linen closet complete the upper level.

The lower level can be completed with a clubroom, game room, home office, exercise room, wet bar, media room, closets and two full baths.
