Nationals 13, Mets 1

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Manny Acta suddenly has a full supply of productive outfielders on his roster.

Chris Snelling and Ryan Church each had three hits and four RBI in yesterday’s rout over the Mets, a welcome sight for the Nationals’ manager.

Snelling hit a pair of solo home runs off right-hander Chan Ho Park, then added a two-run double off Jorge Sosa in his third at-bat. He now leads the team with three homers and 10 RBI this spring, prompting Acta to say he has all but assured himself a spot on the Opening Day roster.

Not to be outdone, Church had a three-run double in the second.

On the mound, Jerome Williams kept himself in the rotation race with four scoreless innings. Levale Speigner followed with three innings of one-hit ball to help his cause for making the roster.
