How did you get started in real estate? I graduated from college and took a clerical job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. I quickly learned I did not like having a boss or commuting, and I thought real estate was a great solution. Both of my parents were in the business, and they helped me get started.

How long with the current company? 13 years

Licenses and designations: Virginia real estate sales; graduate, Realtor Institute

Awards: Northern Virginia Association of Realtors lifetime top producer; RE/MAX hall of fame

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Helping a first-time buyer get into a first home

Highest-priced home sold: $1,100,000

Most memorable house: A few years back, I had a client looking for her first home. She got outbid about 10 times before we finally got a contract ratified. It ended up to be her favorite home after all, but it was very frustrating for both of us.

Worst experience: Clients bought a home because they loved the roses in the front yard, and when we went to close, the seller had removed all the rose bushes.
