Last night at Verizon Center

Gilbert Arenas started the game with 1,999 points this season. Six minutes into the game, he had 2,001.

Arenas’ driving layup with 6:05 left in the first quarter gave him at least 2,000 points for the third straight season, placing him in elite company. Walt Bellamy is the only other Washington player with at least 2,000 points in consecutive seasons.

DeShawn Stevenson finished with a season-high 28 points, 18 of which came in the first half, when the Wizards needed them most.
