Even though it’s snowing again, last week’s glorious temperatures have promised spring’s imminent arrival. In honor of the annual post-winter wake-up, the Torpedo Factory Art Factory (105 North Union St., Alexandria) has chosen “Rise and Shine” as the theme for tonight’s Second Thursday Art Night. During the facility’s extended hours (6 to 9 p.m.), visitors can stroll through the studios and galleries, nosh on muffins and coffee, take advantage of free massages and show off their slumber party best (pajamas are encouraged). For the artistically inclined, there’s a lecture about printing on metal at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; no reservations are required. Call 703/838-4565 or log onto www.torpedofactory.org.
