When a player gets promoted from the minor leagues, there are all sorts of logistical issues that have to be worked out in a short amount of time. So forgive the Nationals’ equipment folks for making a slight mistake yesterday. Upon entering the clubhouse, one intrepid reporter happened to notice the jersey hanging for newly called-up Mike Bacsik featured a mistake. The name on the back of his jersey read: “BASCIK.” Oops. Fortunately, clubhouse manager Mike Wallace was able to do a quick sewing job to flip-flop the two incorrect letters before last night’s starting pitcher arrived. Bacsik was none the wiser.
