Highest-priced home sold: $800,000

Most memorable house: It was one of my least expensive sales. Years ago, I had a buyer who was new to the country, who had no money and almost no credit history but had a dream to own a small condominium for himself and his family. He had no car, so I had to pick him up and drive him everywhere. We finally got him approved for a loan through special financing, and when he and his family moved in, they were all so proud. It was a wonderful feeling.

Worst experience: Early in my career, it was a very tough market. I didn’t have many sales, and my wife wanted me to look for something else. I had clients looking to buy in a price range three times that of my typical buyer. I had shown them 200 homes over about six months. One day they told me they had stopped in at a new homes site I had told them about and had put in a contract to buy a home. They said the builder would not honor me because I had not been with them when they went in. I was devastated and did consider quitting. The next day, my clients called and told me they had told the builder they would not buy the home unless the builder honored me. The builder did, and here I am.
