Before 7:30 p.m. only two Thrashers-themed banners hanged from the rafters at 8-year-old Philips Arena — one signifying the team’s inaugural season in 1999-2000 and another because Atlanta will play host to this year’s All-Star Game. The Thrashers added a 2006-07 Southeast Division championship banner before the game.


5Players on the Caps roster who scored at least 25 goals last season (Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin, Chris Clark, Michael Nylander and Viktor Kozlov).
