WASHINGTON NATIONALS AT FLORIDA MARLINS

Today: 7:05 p.m., RHP Shawn Hill (3-3, 2.98) vs. LHP Scott Olsen (9-12, 5.76).

Tomorrow: 7:05 p.m., LHP Mike Bacsik (5-9, 4.74) vs. RHP Sergio Mitre (5-8, 4.74).

Wednesday: 1:05 p.m., RHP Joel Hanrahan (4-3, 5.63) vs. RHP Byung-Hyun Kim (9-6, 5.47).

Series breakdown: The Nationals have their best starter going in the opener of the final showdown in the battle to avoid last place in the National League East. Hill doesn”t have a decision in five starts since coming off the disabled list in mid-August, but he allowed just six runs over 261/3 innings in four of them. The other game was the only time he has allowed more than three earned runs this year. The Nationals, three games ahead in the standings, swept the Marlins last week in Washington but are 2-4 in Florida this year compared to 7-2 at RFK Stadium. Guy Curtright
