Threads of interest

The Textile Museum (2320 S St. NW) illuminates a world of intricate woven and knit goods that most of us don’t often ponder — although some people actually do make this their business. Starting tonight and continuing one Thursday each month, Washingtonians can revel in the words of various textile scholars. This evening, Angela Volker discusses artist-designed textiles made in early 20th-century Vienna. Refreshments are at 6:30 p.m., followed by the lecture at 7 p.m. Tickets: $15 to $20. Call 202/667-0441 ext. 64, or visit www.textilemuseum.org.
