Because of an editing error, an article in yesterday’s editions incorrectly attributed a claim that Iraqi officials have demanded large bribes from private security contractors seeking licenses. The claim was made by an employee of Blackwater USA who spoke on the condition of anonymity and by another veteran security service employee.

An article in Wednesday’s editions incorrectly characterized the Catholic News Agency, which reported that Pope Benedict XVI is expected to visit Washington. The service is independent and not associated with the U.S. Bishops Conference. Plans for the trip were first reported by a Catholic blog, Whispers in the Loggia.
