NEW SERIES

WASHINGTON NATIONALS at NEW YORK METS

Where: Shea Stadium

Today: 7:10 p.m., LHP Matt Chico (5-9, 4.74) vs. RHP Mike Pelfrey (3-7, 5.24).

Tomorrow: 7:10 p.m., RHP Jason Bergmann (5-5, 4.30) vs. LHP Tom Glavine (13-6, 3.97).

Wednesday: 7:10 p.m., RHP Shawn Hill (4-5, 3.42) vs. RHP Philip Humber (0-0, 3.00).

Series breakdown: With yesterday’s emotional RFK finale now in the past, the Nationals hit the road for the season’s final week. They will face the same two opponents they did in the last week at home with the NL East title still very much at play. The Mets lead the Phillies by 2½ games, but that could change based on how they play against the Nationals. The Nationals took it to New York last week, winning two of three, so obviously the Mets will have revenge in mind.
