Loudoun County, Va., frequently cited as one of the fastest growing counties in the country, has been transformed from a rural, agricultural and horse farm area into a high-tech center.

Some parts of the county, however, still retain a rural or small-town atmosphere. New residential development has primarily occurred along Va. 7 in the northern part of the county and along U.S. 50 in the southern part of the county between Chantilly and Middleburg.
