NFL Draft First Round Order

1. MIAMI DOLPHINS

First pick: Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long already signed.

2. ST. LOUIS RAMS

They need: Offensive and defensive line help for a team crushed by injuries last year.

3. ATLANTA FALCONS

They need: A quarterback, but defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey makes more sense at this spot.

4. OAKLAND RAIDERS

They need: O-line, wide receiver. QB JaMarcus Russell needs more playmakers.

5, 17. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

They need: Starters on the offensive line, corners, at least one safety, starting wideout.

6. NEW YORK JETS

They need: A big receiver, a cornerback to complement Darrelle Revis, help on the D-line.

7. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

They need: Corners to replace Asante Samuel and Randall Gay, a linebacker to replace Rosevelt Colvin.

8. BALTIMORE RAVENS

They need: A good quarterback, a corner to back up Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle.

9. CINCINNATI BENGALS

They need: Help at defensive tackle and at linebacker, offensive line depth.

10. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

They need: Linebacker, defensive tackle or defensive back.

11. BUFFALO BILLS

They need: A big-bodied receiver to complement Lee Evans, a cornerback.

12. DENVER BRONCOS

They need: Plenty. Start with the offensive and defensive lines and continue with the secondary.

13. CAROLINA PANTHERS

They need: A tackle to start right away. A running back. A defensive end to replace Mike Rucker.

14. CHICAGO BEARS

They need: Help just about everywhere on offense, particularly on the line and at running back.

15. DETROIT LIONS

They need: A long list, thanks to Matt Millen; offensive tackle, defensive end, linebacker, running back, guard.

16. ARIZONA CARDINALS

They need: A cornerback, backup running back, third wide receiver, offensive lineman.

18. HOUSTON TEXANS

They need: A left tackle, with Ephraim Salaam entering his 11th season and Charles Spencer out.

19. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

They need: Wide receiver, offensive line. They could be one playmaker on offense from the Super Bowl.

20. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

They need: With workhorse Cadillac Williams coming off knee surgery, a running back.

21. WASHINGTON REDSKINS

They need: A pass-rushing end, a big wideout to fit into coach Jim Zorn’s West Coast offense, a safety.

22, 28. DALLAS COWBOYS

They need: A running back to share the load with Marion Barber, cornerbacks, young receivers.

23. PITTSBURGH STEELERS

They need: Offensive linemen, offensive linemen and offensive linemen.

24. TENNESSEE TITANS

They need: A speedy receiver to stretch the field and complement the sizeable wideouts on hand.

25. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

They need: A tight end who can block and catch passes. A running back for the future.

26. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

They need: With Bobby McCray, Grady Jackson and Marcus Stroud gone, defensive line help.

27. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

They need: O-line depth. But the Bolts have only one first-day pick and none in rounds two, three and four.

29. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

They need: Another starting linebacker to go with last year’s rookie sensation, Patrick Willis.

30. GREEN BAY PACKERS

They need: A tight end, a corner, O-linemen. But GM Ted Thompson lives by the “best player available” cliche.

31. NEW YORK GIANTS

They need: Believe it or not, defense: a safety, a cornerback, an end, maybe a linebacker.
