SEEN AND HEARD AT NATIONALS PARK

Most of the TVs in the Nationals’ clubhouse on Saturday afternoon were tuned to the 2008 Big League Baseball World Series finals - sort of like the Little League World Series, except for high schoolers.

Nationals reliever Saul Rivera’s little brother, 17-year-old Raul Rivera, allowed one unearned run on five hits in six innings for Puerto Rico. But the team blew a 4-0 lead in the seventh, making four errors in the final inning and losing 5-4 when Ruben Sierra Jr. (son of the former big league outfielder) gave up a two-run single.

BY THE NUMBERS

9 Players on the Nationals’ 25-man roster who are 25 years old or younger.
