How did you get started in real estate? My mother was in real estate years ago, so I always had an interest. When my children went into middle school, I decided it was a good time for me to get my real estate licenses.

How long with the current company? Since 1991

License and designations: Maryland real estate sales; graduate, Realtor institute; accredited buyer representative

Associations: Southern Maryland Association of Realtors (SMAR)

Awards: SMAR multimillion-dollar sales awards

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: My oldest son’s wedding in June. He married a wonderful girl at Maryvale, a beautiful old house that looks like a castle.

What is your area of specialty? Residential resale and buyer agency

Highest-priced home sold: $800,000-plus

Most memorable house: The listing and sale of a circa-1600 house and property to the Charles County government that they purchased to add to the adjoining 600-plus acre park. The transaction took almost two years with many ups and downs.

Worst experience: I would consider my worst experience having not to deal with the transaction itself but having to rely on other people to do certain things, and when they fail to come through, you have to deal with the problems that occur.

Age: 56

Family: Married 30 years; three children

Pets: Four cats, two dogs

Education: High school diploma

Outside interest: Gardening

What kind of car do you drive? Toyota Sienna van

What is your personal dream house? A house on the water with great views, a boat dock and a well-landscaped yard.
