Rain

By Wes Crim, age 13

Rain is loneliness

Rain is boredom

A perfect day wasted

Rain is empty.

Rain dirties the fresh, the new

It stops all your plans

It sucks your life dry

And yet rain brings joy.

Maybe it’s because every time

Something is missing

Change will fill the gap,

Take its place.

So in some ways

It is new life

Rain is washing away the old

Slowly growing back the new.

Rain is starting over

Washing away the past

Sometimes we all need a chance to start over new

And watch all our problems slip away …
