• The Aspen Institute, a D.C. nonprofit, named Jane Wales vice president of philanthropy and society and executive director of its nonprofit sector and philanthropy program. She will continue to serve as host of “It’s Your World,” a National Public Radio interview show.


• Rockville accounting firm Goodman & Co. LLP promoted Elise Couloumbis, Kazuko Hogge and Shira Kavanagh to senior associates.


Matthew Nicely was appointed to the U.S. Court of International Trade advisory committee on rules. He will continue to serve as partner at Thompson Hine LLP, a Cleveland law firm with offices in the District.

James C. Beh was named partner in the D.C. office of Jones Day, a Cleveland law firm. He worked as a partner in the D.C. office of Troutman Sanders LLP of Atlanta.


Betsy Daily, a vice president at Lanham real estate company NAI Global, was named to the NAI Global Elite, a group of the organization’s top producers.


Darin Prill was named senior vice president of architecture and development at Discovery Communications Inc., a Silver Spring media company. He was vice president of architecture for Cablevision, a New York cable company.

Timothy Jones was named vice president of Air Force programs at Northrop Grumman Corp., a defense and technology company with offices in Arlington. Mr. Jones retired from the U.S. Air Force this year after 30 years of service, most recently as director of programs in the office of the deputy chief of staff for strategic plans and programs.

John P. Casciano was named president of Omnisec International Investigations Inc., a Chantilly personal security investigations service. He worked as senior vice president and chief operating office of Lexis Nexis Special Services Inc., a Delaware company that provides security information technology for the government.
