Most memorable house: In December 2007, I sold an in-town estate in Alexandria called Bellapais, a 25-acre property. The sale involved covenants and easements along with septic and well and other issues that had to be researched with Fairfax County, the U.S. Park Service and the National Wildlife Foundation about what could and couldn’t be done with the property. I was able to draw on my 20 years of expertise and experience in real estate and continue to learn.

Worst experience: A few years ago right before settlement, my purchasers found out that the fence in the yard of the house they were purchasing was seven feet outside of their lot line and extending onto city property. They had settled on their house and had their belongings packed and ready to move. We could not resolve the dollar difference this meant to the purchasers. The settlement was cancelled and they put their belongings in storage. A few days later, we were able to come to terms and settlement did happen.
