SEEN AND HEARD IN VIERA

Red-flag alert or nothing to be concerned about? Nothing is certain, but Shawn Hill (who was originally supposed to pitch to live hitters yesterday) was held back “as a precaution” while he continues to recover from offseason right elbow and left shoulder surgery.

Hill said the team decided to give him an extra day of rest for his arm. He now will throw to hitters today, then again Friday before making his Grapefruit League debut March 5.

“It made sense to take the extra day now,” he said.
