Injuries: Wizards— C Etan Thomas (heart surgery), G Gilbert Arenas (knee).76ersF/C Jason Smith (ankle), F/C Herbert Hill (knee surgery).

Outlook: The Wizards are trying to snap a three-game losing streak. The 76ers own an 18-29 record but beat the Wizards in one of two meetings this year. Washington won the first game 116-101 at home Nov. 20. The 76ers avenged the loss 10 days later, edging the Wizards 85-84 in Philadelphia. … Caron Butler is expected to start a second straight game after missing three straight with a strained hip flexor. He practiced yesterday but didn’t take part in segments that included contact.
