Smalls’ grand story

In honor of Black History Month, the United States Capitol Historical Society is hosting a noon screening today of “Congressman Robert Smalls: A Patriot’s Journey From Slavery to Capitol Hill.” The free event will be held at the VFW Building (200 Maryland Ave. NE) and also includes a lecture by the director of this inspiring documentary.
