By Miranda Smith, age 13

Silence is golden

The one time in life to be unspoken

And as you close your eyes

It’s then that you realize

Everything is still and quiet

And you too should be still.

So when you sit at home wondering

What is there to do?

Sitting in the corner

Or lying on your bed

It’s just a way to spend your time.

Appreciate majestic peace,

For in life,

So silence is the only time

When nothing means everything

And you can truly relax.
