PLAY OF THE GAME

Quarter: Fourth, 5:56 remaining

Score: Seahawks 21, Redskins 14

Situation: Redskins’ ball, first-and-10 at the Washington 46

The play: Todd Collins reared back and heaved a pass downfield in the direction of Santana Moss, who was not nearly as close to the ball as Marcus Trufant. The Seattle cornerback picked off the pass and returned it 78 yards for a touchdown.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

PATRICK KERNEY

Seattle’s big free agent signing from this past offseason showed he was worth the $39.5 million Paul Allen shelled out to get him. Kerney wreaked havoc on the right side of Washington’s line, hammering Todd Collins and stuffing the run.

PRIME NUMBERS

10

Receptions by Antwaan Randle El, a career-best single-game mark for the sixth-year receiver. It also tied a Redskins single-game playoff mark; Art Monk twice caught 10 passes in a postseason game.

17-7

Postseason record for Joe Gibbs. He remains third in postseason wins behind Tom Landry and Don Shula.
