Watching as she appeared before television cameras in a hall of the Capitol Thursday, it was apparent that Rep. Linda Sanchez, California Democrat and chair of a House judiciary subcommittee, is suffering from a bad case of amnesia (“Rove ignores subpoena, refuses to testify on Hill,” Web, Nation, Thursday).

The rest of the world will well remember when Democrats thought differently about the abrupt firing by U.S. attorneys in 1993. This very unusual practice was most convenient to the Clintons.

For the same reason, it is predictable that Karl Rove’s refusal to testify about the Bush administration’s dismissal of the nine federal prosecutors in 2006.
