ANALYSIS/OPINION:

With his recent book “Churchill, Hitler and The Unnecessary War,” reviewed by Victor Davis Hanson, (Commentary, “The bad war,” Friday) Pat Buchanan has confirmed the previously conjectured view of many that he is a die-hard Anglophobe and a bigot. Certainly Adolf Hitler indicated his ultimate goals in Mein Kampf, which included the subjugation of all of Europe, the extermination of the Jews worldwide and the destruction everywhere of any semblance of democratic government.

Perhaps Mr. Buchanan feels that the world would be better off if the Third Reich and Japan had conquered the world, destroyed all of the so-called inferior races and had an empire that would, according to Hitler’s boast, exist for 1,000 years.

Either Mr. Buchanan is unaware and dismissive of history, is unbelievably naive or is so filled of hatred for other races and creeds that he is willing to see them exterminated while he lives under a dictatorship that he envisages as being personally beneficial to himself.
