Adams Morgan, one of Northwest Washington’s hipper neighborhoods, draws visitors and residents with its array of interesting shops, ethnic restaurants and clubs, where nearly every kind of music can be enjoyed every night of the week.

Many of the area’s brownstones and Colonial-style mansions have been converted to apartments and condominiums, but a few new residential buildings have been squeezed into this popular community.

At 1654 Euclid St. NW, EJF Real Estate Services Inc. and Zorc Development Inc. have built 22 contemporary condominiums at Lot 33, a five-story building.

Condominium residents will find themselves in the heart of Adams Morgan, just two blocks from a new supermarket and within walking distance of Meridian Hill Park and countless shops and restaurants.

The Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro stop is eight blocks away. Rock Creek Park and additional shops and restaurants are also eight blocks away.

The Columbia Heights Metro station is five blocks from Lot 33, near the new DC USA development with retail stores and restaurants in the revitalized Tivoli Theater neighborhood.

The U Street Corridor and the U Street/Cardoza Metro station are just eight blocks from Lot 33, adding yet another neighborhood filled with more restaurants, shops and jazz clubs.

Most of the one- and two-bedroom homes, designed by Washington architect Eric Colbert & Associates, have been sold, but two luxury penthouse homes are still available.

The free-standing building has four sides of exposure, which means most of the homes have windows on two or more sides. The building has a garage with space for 26 cars, which residents can purchase for $40,000 to $50,000 per space. Individual storage lockers also are available.

The homes have high ceilings, dramatic open floor plans, full-size front-loading washers and dryers, hardwood flooring and 7-foot solid-wood interior doors. Each home has high-tech wiring, large windows, a Juliet balcony and individually controlled heating and air conditioning.

The bathrooms have natural limestone tile flooring, marble vanity tops, sleek fixtures and custom wood vanities.

Each kitchen has European-style 42-inch cabinets, a Viking gas range, a Bosch dishwasher, a stainless steel refrigerator and granite counters.

Each of the two available penthouse homes includes a private rooftop deck. Buyers can add a whirlpool tub and built-in barbecue to the deck.

The Penthouse 2 home, with three bedrooms, two baths and a den, is priced from $899,000. This home has two closets off the foyer, including one with a washer and dryer. The center of the home has an open living room and dining area with a wall of windows. The kitchen and breakfast bar are open to this room.

The master bedroom suite, located at one end of the penthouse, includes a wall of windows, a private full bath with a large shower, and a walk-in closet. This home has a den between the master suite and living room, a second bedroom, a second full bath and a third bedroom or optional second den.

The Penthouse 3 home, with two bedrooms, two baths and a den, is priced from $919,000. This home has a foyer leading into an open living and dining room with a wall of windows. The kitchen and breakfast bar are open to this room.

The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and a private bath with a large shower. At the opposite end of the home are the second bedroom, a den, a second full bath and a closet with a washer and dryer.
