SAN DIEGO PADRES - Placed LHP Shawn Estes on the 15-day DL. Purchased the contract of RHP Carlos Guevara from Portland (PCL).

HARLINGEN WHITEWINGS - Released RHP Christopher Street.

LAREDO BRONCOS - Agreed to terms with RHP John Odom, LHP Sean Donlin and RHP John Smith. Released LHP Matt Bauman and RHP Henry Lozado.

EDMONTON ESKIMOS - Released WR Brandon Breazell, WR Fred Gibson, DB Brandon Issac, LB Andrew King, RB Jason Marshall, WR Ryan Moore, P Duncan O’Mahony, K Rob Pikula and DB Derrick Strait.

TORONTO ARGONAUTS - Traded K-P Noel Prefontaine to Edmonton for a 2009 first-round draft pick and a 2010 conditional draft pick.

WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS - Signed FB Graeme Bell. Released LB Jesse Alexander and DB Willie Amos. Acquired DB Kevin Garrett from Saskatchewan for a negotiation list player and future considerations.



BUFFALO SABRES - Signed G Jhonas Enroth to a three-year contract and F Tim Kennedy to a two-year contract.


EMORY - Named Mickey Ebert women’s assistant basketball coach.

NOTRE DAME - Announced the resignation of Kevin White, athletic director, to take the same position at Duke. Named Missy Conboy interim athletic director.

OKLAHOMA - Announced sophomore LHP Andrew Oliver is ineligible.
