ROANOKE, Va. (AP) – A tornado has touched down briefly in Roanoke and the National Weather Service says there were no immediate reports of injuries.Meteorologist Dave Wert in Blacksburg says the tornado touched down at 7:30 p.m. about four miles southeast of downtown Roanoke.Wert says preliminary reports indicate the tornado was on the ground for a minute or less and its strength isn’t immediately known, although it knocked down power lines and trees, including on houses.Wert says a weather service team will be sent out Wednesday to investigate the damage.Appalachian Power spokesman Phil Moye says the storm knocked out power to 4,000 customers in southwest Virginia tonight.
