Defiant dances

One of the most striking attributes of the locally based ClancyWorks Dance Company is something it describes as “architecturally informed partnering work.” What does that mean? Physically challenging, gravity-defying pairings between dancers that sometimes involve props such as ladders. See for yourself tonight when the troupe performs at 6 and 7:30 at the National Theatre (1321 Pennsylvania Ave. NW). Free. Details: Call 202/783-3372 or visit www.nationaltheatre.org.
