SEEN AND HEARD AT VERIZON CENTER

Wizards coach Eddie Jordan and the team’s veterans said during the preseason that they needed someone to provide scoring off the bench. So far, Nick Young has answered the call.

Entering Friday, the second-year shooting guard ranked fourth in the league in scoring off the bench with an average of 15.7 points a game.

Chicago’s Ben Gordon (17.6), San Antonio’s Roger Mason Jr. and New York’s Nate Robinson (both at 15.8) were the top three.
