We are faced with a crucial election. It would take pages to detail them, but the international and domestic problems that face our new presidential team and Congress, let alone those still unknown, overlap and interrelate in complex and dynamic ways — demanding sound short-term responses and wise long-term policies.

To deal with these complex realities, we need leaders with relevant experience and understanding: with demonstrated executive and legislative abilities; with well-known backgrounds and records; and in whom we can trust.

Race and gender should not be factors one way or the other. We citizens should think seriously about it and vote for the ticket and persons that seem to us best qualified to deal with the many complex issues that exist now and surely lie around the corner.

God Bless America!
