A national chain of organic cafes - Organic to Go - certified by the Department of Agriculture has just landed on our Potomac shores, as its first cafe opened in July at 1311 F St. NW.

Offerings include lunch bags that feature a sandwich (teriyaki chicken, for example), chips, apple slices, a bottle of water and a cookie for $11.95. Also on the menu are pizzas, snacks and breakfast items.

Four more locations, including Rosslyn and Bethesda, will follow. So what’s your excuse for not eating green and healthfully?
