DUNEDIN, FLA. (AP) - Roy Halladay tuned up for opening day with six sharp innings in the Toronto Blue Jays’ 7-6 victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.

Halladay gave up two runs, one earned, and five hits. He struck out five and walked none.

The Blue Jays ace will make his franchise-record seventh consecutive opening-day start on Monday against the Detroit Tigers.

John Lannan, Washington’s opening-day starter, didn’t fare as well as Halladay. Lannan allowed seven runs and 10 hits in 4 2-3 innings.

Scott Rolen hit his second spring homer for Toronto.
