LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CALIF. (AP) - A truck has careened out of control in a Los Angeles-area intersection and slammed into a bookstore. Authorities confirmed two deaths and seven people taken to hospitals.

Video footage on KABC-TV late Wednesday showed the car-transport truck at least halfway inside the Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse. At least three vehicles were strewn about the nearby highway intersection in Los Angeles County.

One of the two confirmed deaths was in a car in the intersection. It wasn’t immediately clear if any injuries or fatalies were people inside the bookstore.

A county fire official said the injuries ranged from minor to critical.
