THURSDAY’S BEST BET ON TELEVISION

Will Gilbert play or won’t he? The Wizards host the Cavaliers. 8 p.m. TNT

LOCAL POWER RANKINGS: WHO’S GENERATING BUZZ IN THE D.C. AREA?

JAY CUTLER

His feud with the Denver Broncos has reached its boiling point, and owner Pat Bowlen intends to trade him.

JASON CAMPBELL

If I’m the Redskins QB, part of me thinks a trade to Denver wouldn’t be bad - a better franchise… that actually wants him.

MIKE GREEN

If he reaches 30 goals and/or 75 points, the Capitals defenseman deserves the Norris Trophy.

TONY BENNETT

It’s hard to think Virginia made the right coaching choice, as that his style of play (think tractor pull) isn’t attractive to recruits.

DMITRI YOUNG

The veteran could provide the Nats’ bench with some instant offense after he’s done with extended spring training.

TWT FIVE: NFL players who may not have a home in 2009

1. Donte Stallworth, Browns - Unless you count playing for the Dade County (Fla.) Correctional Facility flag football team, the wide receiver won’t play any kind of football.

2. Plaxico Burress, Giants - As if putting a bullet through his leg weren’t bad enough, Burress faces a tough fight to avoid jail.

3. Jeff Garcia - He remains unsigned, puzzling because he proved last year with Tampa Bay he was still a functional passer.

4. Marvin Harrison - Released by Indianapolis, Harrison’s phone hasn’t been ringing off the hook. He could develop into a midseason signing.

5. Derrick Brooks - Tampa Bay whacked the future Hall of Fame linebacker. If Brooks doesn’t play, it’ll probably because he chooses not to.
