JERUSALEM (AP) - Israeli rescue services say two Israelis have been wounded in a Palestinian attack near a West Bank settlement south of Jerusalem.

The rescue services say teams are treating a 7-year-old boy who was badly wounded by a “sharp object” and another person wounded by gunfire.

The Israeli military did not immediately release details of the incident Thursday.

There are sporadic attacks by Palestinians against Israelis in the West Bank. In mid-March, Palestinian attackers killed two Israeli police officers.

Palestinian security forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have limited authority in some areas of the West Bank under Israel’s overall security control.
