PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police say a man opened fire on officers responding to a domestic disturbance call Saturday morning, injuring at least three of them, before barricading himself in the home.

Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says the officers were called to the home in the Stanton Heights neighborhood at about 7 a.m.

She declined to comment on the extent of the officers’ injuries.

Richard says a family member is believed to be with the gunman in the home. State, county and city police are at the scene along with a SWAT team and a state police helicopter.

Richard said police negotiators are on the scene but she did not know whether they had spoken with the gunman.
