ISLAMABAD (AP) - A police official says a bomb has exploded in a Shiite mosque south of the Pakistani capital, killing and injuring multiple people.

Police official Afsar Ali could not specify exactly how many people were killed and injured by the explosion at the mosque in Chakwal city during a religious congregation Sunday.

He said several dead and injured people have been pulled out of the mosque and sent to a hospital and that rescue authorities are still searching through the wreckage.
