ISLAMABAD (AP) - A police official says a bomb has exploded in a Shiite mosque south of the Pakistani capital, killing at least 12 people and wounding more than 50.

Police official Mujahid Hussain says the explosion rocked a mosque in Chakwal city during a religious congregation Sunday. He could not specify whether it was a suicide bomber or a planted bomb.

Police official Afsar Ali says rescue authorities are still searching through the wreckage.
